Rwanda Polytechnic (RP)-Musanze College and Jinhua University of Vocational Technology Celebrate Second Cohort Graduation in China

On 20th December 20250, thirty students from Rwanda Polytechnic – Musanze College proudly graduated in China under the joint academic partnership with Jinhua University of Vocational Technology (JUVT). The cohort, comprising 15 students in E-Commerce and 15 in Electrical Automation Technology, successfully completed the 2+1 model of study: two years at Musanze College and one year at JUVT, earning dual Advanced Diploma certificates.  

This graduation underscores the strength of Rwanda’s international collaboration in higher education, equipping youth with industry-driven, future-oriented skills aligned with Rwanda’s Vision 2050 and the demands of the global economy.  

In his address, Eng. Emile Abayisenga, Principal of RP–Musanze College, emphasized the transformative nature of the partnership:  “This achievement reflects the strength of international collaboration, industry-driven training, and practical, future-oriented education. The skills you have acquired in automation, digital commerce, and modern technology align directly with Rwanda’s Vision 2050 and the demands of a rapidly evolving global economy. Dear graduands, you are global citizens equipped with competence, discipline, and resilience. Use your knowledge to innovate, create employment, and contribute meaningfully to national and global development.”  

He further expressed gratitude to JUVT leadership, lecturers, and staff of both institutions, reaffirming Rwanda Polytechnic’s commitment to expanding such partnerships and preparing youth for the world of work.  

Dr. Chen Hairong, Vice President of JUVT, highlighted the partnership’s impact during recent collaborative engagements:  “The cooperation between Jinhua University of Vocational Technology and RP-Musanze College demonstrates the power of education exchange in shaping skilled professionals. Through the 2+1 model, students gain both local grounding and international exposure, ensuring they are well-prepared for global opportunities. We remain committed to strengthening this collaboration and supporting Rwanda’s vision for technical excellence.”  

NIWEMUGENI Jeneveva (E-Commerce Graduate): “Studying in China broadened my perspective on digital trade. I now feel confident to contribute to Rwanda’s growing e-commerce sector and to create opportunities for others.”  

Dusengimana Pascal (Automation Graduate): “The hands-on training at JUVT gave me advanced technical skills. I am determined to apply them in Rwanda’s industrial sector, supporting automation and innovation.”  

Impact and Future Outlook

Global Competence: Students emerge as global citizens, equipped with resilience, discipline, and innovation capacity.  

Industry-Relevant Skills: Training in automation and digital commerce directly supports Rwanda’s Vision 2050.  

Sustainable Partnership: The collaboration continues to expand, with faculty exchanges, laboratory development, and joint workshops enhancing institutional capacity.
