On 22nd February Hon. Antoine MUGESERA conducted a public talk at Musanze Polytechnic. The theme was “Rwandans Social interaction in their history”. He started arguing that before the arrival of colonialists in Africa; Rwandans were one people. Divisionism was the main weapon to colonize Rwanda. “Hutu, Twa and Tutsi were not clans or races but Social classes’’ he said.

 He also explained the way divisionism was expended by different regimes; Kayibanda one, Habyalimana and lastly Sindikubwabo which led to Genocide perpetrated against the Tutsis in April 1994,  where over 1,000,000 of Tutsis were killed. He said that the valiant young people (RPF Inkotanyi) led by H.E Paul Kagame saved Rwanda and stopped Genocide against the Tutsis in 1994.

 Summing up, Hon. Mugesera reminded young students and Staff at Musanze Polytechnic that we are one people (Abanyarwanda) and that divisionism or segregation is the worst thing between Rwandans. It is to be fought against.
