Musanze Polytechnic to be extended by China Government
Musanze polytechnic management proposed an extension project to the China Government through high governmental relevant entities.
The project intends to provide workshops, laboratories and specialised training rooms for increasing the training capacity in existing training areas and establishing (4) selected areas of training that are relevant to the development of Rwanda and specifically that of the Northern Province. In addition to technical training, the new structure will provide support facilities namely: Business Incubation Centre (BIC), library, offices, accommodation, and adequate multipurpose hall to accommodate the projected enrolment.
Technical & Vocational Training offered at Musanze Polytechnic is practical-based that offers training experience equivalent to that of field and industrial setting. The setting is focused on the requirements to develop the Northern Province society and infrastructure.
The project will provide capacity to enrol more students from the expanding Technical Secondary Education where TVET is required to increase its share of students finishing lower secondary school from the current 40% to 60% by 2018. The project will include supporting the upgrading of MP staff by improving their technical & pedagogy skills through study scholarships and short term trainings at relevant institutions in China.
It is in this perspective that on 9th of April, 2017 a delegation from China landed in Kigali with a mission of the extension feasibility study. Thus, in the morning of 11th April 2017; the Chinese team alongside Musanze Polytechnic team led by the Principal ABAYISENGA Emile met the Minister of State in charge of TVET, who officially welcomed them in Rwanda and a brief introduction was done by the both sides.

After the meeting from the Ministry of Education, guests took their way to Musanze District where they met the Governor/Northern Province who also welcomed them in the Northern Province and assured them that He and the District will provide any thing they will need during their stay in Rwanda.
