Musanze Polytechnic Staff at Nyange Sector in a community work
On this 25th November 2017, Musanze Polytechnic staff joined the citizens of Nyange sector in a community work at Nyabutaka village. This activity was made up of two major activities: Building the houses of vulnerable people and planting farm grasses. This day marked the beginning of the month of fighting against domestic violence in Musanze district, and it was opened officially by the Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Jeanne d'Arc UWIMANIMPAYE.
During this activity, Musanze Polytechnic staff and citizens built four houses for vulnerable people and they planted farm grasses in Nyabutaka. Those two activities were chosen to improve the social welfare of the people with no shelter in that area, and help famers get multiplicative farm grasses.
After this communal activity, residents gathered for discussions. The latter were centred on fighting against the violence and preventing the traffic accidents.
Opening the month of fighting against violence, the Deputy Speaker of the Chamber, Jeanne d'Arc UWIMANIMPAYE, urged the citizens to fight against domestic violence by eradicating anything that can be the source of the violence. “Do not allow your children to get married at a young age, rather send them to school,” she reminded them. She advised Musanze residents to fight against domestic violence by preventing anything that can be the source of the violence.
HABYARIMANA Jean Damascene, the Mayor of Musanze district thanked the citizens of Nyange sector for the cleanness of their compounds and the plantation of garden flowers in their quarter. “All families we visited had well-cleaned homes,” he said appreciatively. He reminded the citizens to ensure cleanness everywhere.
Nyange sector is one of 15 sectors of Musanze district, and it is located near the volcanoes chain.
