IPRC Musanze students urged to take a lead in crime prevention
On this 18th May 2022, the Regional Police Commander (RPC), CSP Francis Muheto, delivered a public talk to staff and students of IPRC Musanze. The talk focused on the role of youth in crime prevention, it was organized in line with the program of Rwanda National Police (RNP) to reinforce awareness against crimes with a special focus on the youth in schools.
He shared with staff and students the status of crimes in Northern Region whereby he revealed that most crimes include theft, drug dealing, assault, and smuggling. After illustrating them, he emphasized that youth should put a focus on the prevention of the aforementioned crimes and influence positive change in their communities. He encouraged students to play their role in maintaining security through community policing. For their bright future, and their contribution in building Rwanda we want, he urged students to take a lead in crime prevention.
In his remarks, the Principal of IPRC Musanze thanked Rwanda National Police (RNP) for organization such talks for youth in line with crimes prevention. He encouraged students to make a first step in crime prevention wherever they are, and promote positive attitudes. He reminded them that they have to play their role in preserving security that Rwanda has already got.
Through public talks, IPRC Musanze students interact with various officials and experts in different domains to learn from them and get inspired to become good citizens who will actively contribute to Rwanda’s transformation towards its development.
