IPRC Musanze Staff refurbish a house of a vulnerable old woman
The 05th July 2021 marked a handover of a refurbished house to Ancille MUKARUGAMBWA, a vulnerable old woman who lives in Muhoza sector. Her decrepit house was in poor condition, it has been renewed by the staff of IPRC Musanze to enhance Ancille’s wellbeing. Through their Solidarity Fund, IPRC Musanze Staff contributed money to renew the house and equipped it with furniture. This activity amounted five million Rwandan francs (5,000,000Frw).
The Principal of IPRC Musanze, Eng. Emile ABAYISENGA, revealed that after noticing the old house and the living conditions of Ancille, IPRC Musanze staff decided to renew her house to help her get a good shelter. He mentioned that each year IPRC Musanze staff contribute money to support the community as their contribution to implementation of government programs to improve the social wellbeing. IPRC Musanze staff participate in various programs including but not limited to construction of houses to vulnerable people, Health Insurance, and One Cow per Family.
In her remarks, Jeanine NUWUMUREMYI, the Mayor of Musanze district, who was the guest of honour in this event, acknowledged the commitment of IPRC Musanze staff to supporting the community in improving social welfare and their participation in the implementation of government programs in Musanze district. She stated that supporting such a vulnerable old woman is a noble activity that explains the understanding of good Rwandans in regards to the vision of Rwanda. She thanked IPRC Musanze Staff for their willingness to support community.
With a smiling face, Ancille MUKARUGAMBWA expressed her gratitude to IPRC Musanze staff who renewed her house. She mentioned that she had no shelter, her house was too old. She added that she used to experience serious night coldness because the house was demolished and it had substandard old doors and windows. The wind and rain could enter the house roof easily.
Depending on priorities in Musanze district, IPRC Musanze staff support the community in various activities each year.
