From the 11^th to 20^thAugust 2021, our Mathematics Academic Staff have been in a virtual EAUMP-ICTP Summer School. This training aimed at equipping participants with concrete and effective mathematical tools from algebra, group theory, and geometry that can be applied to any scientific field.

During this workshop, participants covered various interesting Mathematics topics including but not limited to the Combinatorics and Lie Algebra. The gained package of knowledge will help IPRC Musanze academic staff who teach Mathematics to enrich their teaching, learning and research activities.

Emmanuel Hakizimana, the Head of Department of Sciences at IPRC Musanze, revealed that the EAUMP-ICTP Summer School helped them to broaden their skills and knowledge not only in the area of Mathematics but also in the area of research. He added that it was a relevant forum that helped mathematicians to interact, exchange ideas and initiate collaborations.

Emmanuel Niyigaba, Assistant Lecturer in Mathematics, mentioned that the EAUMP-ICTP Summer School was helpful in terms of the current trends in Mathematics.He precisely explained that attending the EAUMP-ICTP Summer School was a golden opportunity to exchange knowledge with other academicians and gain mathematical tools needed in scientific academic projects.

Mathematics is taught at IPRC Musanze in Engineering programs as a general course that helps trainees to upgrade skills and knowledge in science and technology and be ready for scientific problem solving and analysis.
