IPRC Musanze Staff celebrated the International Labour Day
On the 01st May 2019, IPRC Musanze joined the rest of the world in the celebration of the International Labour Day. In Rwanda, this day was under the theme, “Quality Work, a Catalyst for Sustainable Development.” Like in other corners of the country, it was an appropriete occasion for IPRC Musanze Staff to discuss the achievements made and other job-related concerns to ensure quality work.
In his remarks, Eng. Emile Abayisenga, the Principal of IPRC Musanze, appreciated what has been achieved and acknowledged the role of Staff and stakeholders in meeting the institutional goals. He challenged all Staff to generate income for the growth of the institution. He mentioned that income generating activities will pave the way to quality work and strengthen the quality education offered at IPRC Musanze.
Jean Damascène Mushimiyimana, the Ag. Corporate Service Division Manager, emphasised on innovations and job creation whereby he called upon the Academic Staff to help youth create jobs to employ themselves and employ others. He highlighted that home-grown solutions and local production will contribute to Made in Rwanda policy aligned with Rwanda’s aspiration of becoming an upper middle income country by 2035 and higher income by 2050. In addition, the Ag. CSDM revealed that youth have to be equipped with ICT literacy that will enable them to compete effectively on the labour market.
During this event, basing on quality service and performance; IPRC Musanze Staff voted Protais Niyonshima as the 1st best performer, Epaphrodite Byukusenge as the 2nd best performer and Leopold Musengimana as 3rd best performer.
The International Labour Day is celebrated, every year on the 1st May, by the working class globally.
