IPRC Musanze signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Jinhua Polytechnic
On this 08th September 2019, Rwanda Polytechnic-Integrated Polytechnic Regional College (RP-IPRC) Musanze signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jinhua Polytechnic (a technical school from China) to continue the existing cooperation between the two training institutions.
The signed MoU is a continuation of the good cooperation based on the MoU signed between the Ministry of Education of Rwanda and Jinhua Polytechnic of China on the 21st December 2016. It aims at jointly carrying out mainly the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), plus the capacity building of trainers. This mutual partnership will foster the development of TVET in Rwanda.
In fact, this cooperation will reinforce the exchange of specialists and technical experts from one school to another. Thus, both institutions will keep on producing the competent graduates with hands on skills and professional competences that meet the local and international market demand.
The Secretary of Discipline Committee at Jinhua Polytechnic, Sun Xianhu, pointed out that mutual cooperation has been successful over the last three years. He stated that Jinhua Polytechnic will keep on working with IPRC Musanze to foster the high quality professional training. He mentioned that the cooperation will contribute to the industrial development in Rwanda.
The Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic, Dr. James Gashumba, expressed his gratitude towards the two schools for the noble partnership and friendship they have developed. He clearly stated that since 2013 the Rwandan students have gone to Jinhua and they graduate in different programmes, among them 42 people have graduated. The VC indicated that Rwanda Polytechnic aims at training and empowering students with the skills and knowledge responding to community needs. Therefore, the partnership will help RP to meet the aforementioned goal.
The Principal of IPRC Musanze, Eng. Emile Abayisenga, said that both sides have benefited from the partnership in terms of trainers’ capacity building and exchange knowledge transfer. He revealed that four experts from China came to IPRC Musanze to assist and coach trainers and three lecturers went to China for a three or six-month training to sharpen their technical skills.
