IPRC Musanze-End of Year Retreat
On this 15th February 2020, IPRC Musanze staff came together for the End of Year Retreat to both celebrate the achievements made last year, and discuss the future plans to be attained in this year of 2020. During this event, three new staff took oath to commence their duties. It was an opportunity to exchange ideas that contribute to the progress and success of IPRC Musanze.
In his remarks, Eng. Emile ABAYISENGA, the Principal of IPRC Musanze, talked about the outstanding achievements that were made in 2019, and called upon all staff to actively contribute to the growth of IPRC Musanze.
Some of the achievements made:
IPRC Musanze students and trainers got different awards in TVET Youth Challenge and at MINEDUC competition of Best Innovations and Best Practices. In addition, IPRC Musanze was awarded as the Best Tourism and Hospitality TVET School of the year by Rwanda Chamber of Tourism.
In 2019, around nine hundred twelve (912) candidates graduates in different programs (A1 and Short Courses) at IPRC Musanze.
On the 29th March 2019, IPRC Musanze organized a blast open day to celebrate its 4 years of existence and two graduations, and acknowledge the role of stakeholders in meeting such goals. It was a good time to present to the potentials investors the opportunities at IPRC Musanze in which they can invest.
IPRC Musanze participated in different exhibitions to showcase the projects, innovation, academic research and programs to the community and stakeholders. IPRC Musanze was awarded as the best exhibitor among the Higher Learning Institutions in the Northern Province Mini Expo 2019.
In teaching and learning activities, IPRC Musanze enhanced the Quality Education and promoted the Civic Education through the well prepared and delivered lessons, regular students’ practicals, well-organized Induction Week, Kwibuka25 and different public lectures.
The year of 2019 also marked the beginning of IPRC Musanze extension project, it kicked off on 30th May 2019. A project of constructing new building that will enable IPRC Musanze to receive many students its academic programs and promote Quality Education. This project will end towards the end of 2020.
In 2019, IPRC Musanze recruited new staff to fill gaps and enhance the quality service delivery. The competent staff will help the institution to achieve more both in administration side and academic side. During this event, three new staff took oath to commence their duties.
In Community Outreach program, IPRC Musanze supported around 320 people from poor families by donating health care insurance to them. In addition, IPRC Musanze participated in the activities of addressing Human Security Issues.
In the Public Relations & Cooperation, IPRC Musanze received and held valuable discussions with the following Stakeholders (Institutions and People): Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB), Chinese Embassy to Rwanda, UNIT CLUB INTWARARUMURI, Rwanda Elders Advisory Forum (REAF), the Office of Registrar General (ORG) in the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), AUDA-NEPAD-MINAGRI for the Project of Agriculture in TVET (A-TVET), Wadhwani Foundation, CNLG, Professor Mazina Déo from Univerisité Libre de Bruxelles, Professor Marena Manley from Stellenbosch University, Mme Lin Yi, the Vice President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Rwanda Governance Board (RGB), China Aid Agency (CAA), Chinese Department of Education, Ms. Ahunna Eziakonwa, UNDP's Assistant Administrator and Regional Director for Africa, Ms. Didy Elodie Rusera, the Chief Skills Officer (CSO) at RDB, Vocation Training Centre Lahnstein from Germany, Forum of Ministries of Education in EAC, Singita Community Culinary School, Rwanda Standard Board (RSB) just to mention a few.
This year of 2020, IPRC Musanze will keep on strengthening the Quality of Education to produce competent workforce needed at the labour market.
