INAUGURATION OF THE FIVE (5) NEW LABORATORIES AT IPRC MUSANZE
On this Saturday, the 18th of November, 2023, the Governor of Northern Province, Honorable Maurice Mugabowagahunde along with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Wang Xuekun inaugurated five (5) laboratories provided and installed at IPRC Musanze in partnership with Jinhua Polytechnic - China to support the programs of E-Commerce and Electrical Automation Technology that were established jointly.
In his welcoming remarks, the Principal of IPRC Musanze, Eng. Emile Abayisenga expressed hisgratitude to the guests who responded positively and participated in the event, particularly Jinhua Polytechnic, for choosing IPRC Musanze as achieving the Rwanda Luban Workshop, which is the result of a sustainable partnership between the Government of Rwanda and the People’s Republic of China. The Principal also took the time to introduce the background of IPRC Musanze to those who reached the first time on campus.
Dr. Sylvie Mucyo, the Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic, emphasized that this inauguration of the Rwanda Luban Workshop established at IPRC Musanze with the support of Jinhua Polytechnic is the significance of collaborative efforts and the shared vision to promote skills development for the new generation that impacts on national as well as the world economy. “Today, we are celebrating an important milestone in our partnership of having the five (5) laboratories established in the areas of Electrical Automation Technology and E-Commerce. This great achievement we celebrate today is a result of the incredible efforts and political will of the government of Rwanda and the government of the People’s Republic of China that invests in human capital development as a cornerstone of the national economy. That aspiration, in combination with other initiatives, will help our country to attain national socio-economic transformation. We believe that Luban Workshop will help students and trainers to come up with various innovations addressing community issues.” Said the Vice Chancellor | Rwanda Polytechnic.
Chen Hairong, the Vice President and head of the delegation from Jinhua Polytechnic revealed that Jinhua Polytechnic appreciates the good relationship between the two Institutions and added that its college is ready to enhance collaboration with Rwanda through IPRC Musanze. “Rwanda is a country of hope and there are abundant teenagers with needs in vocational education. They bring a large space for talent cultivation and opportunity for us, that makes our Rwanda Luban Workshop more meaningful. The ceremony of today is a practice based on the 8 projects raised at the Beijing summit of the forum on China-Africa, and it is also a label of a new stage of cooperation. We hope to establish a communication platform for teenagers from both sides, the exchange for teachers and students will make a tunnel of communication as well as a contribution to people-to-people band for Rwanda and China." His Excellency Wang Xuekun, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, expressed his sincere gratitude to Jinhua Polytechnic and IPRC Musanze which worked together to reach such success. “Today we inaugurate Luban Workshop which will be a good platform for this college and Rwanda People for training in practical technics. We hope the technical skills that the young generation are meriting from these new laboratories will contribute to Rwanda's industrial development and abroad.” The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China said.
Honorable Maurice Mugabowagahunde, the Governor of the Northern Province, who was also the Guest of Honor, graced the Government of People’s Republic of China for the aid of establishing IPRC Musanze in Phases, as well as recognizing Jinhua Polytechnic for partnering with Rwanda Polytechnic to establish two new programs namely: E-Commerce and Electrical Automation Technology and for which providing 5 new labs just inaugurated at IPRC Musanze.
In September 2013, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Jinhua Polytechnic and the Ministry of Education, aiming to strengthen educational cooperation and exchanges between Jinhua Polytechnic and Rwanda. In December 2016, Jinhua Polytechnic and MINEDUC signed a second MoU objecting to benefit IPRC Musanze mainly in exchange for staff. Based on the previous MoUs; In September 2019, Rwanda Polytechnic and Jinhua Polytechnic signed a Memorandum of Understanding whose main objective was to carry out technical education and training by jointly establishing new academic programs. In 2020, a separate agreement was signed to start two programs namely: E-Commerce and Electrical Automation as an implementation of the signed 2019 MoU.
