EnRHEd project kicks off
On this 17th February 2020, a project entitled Enhancement of Rwandan Higher Education in strategic fields for sustainable growth (EnRHEd) started officially. It was in a kick-off meeting of Erasmus Plus that took place at Institute of Applied Sciences INES-Ruhengeri.
The meeting was attended by the delegations of the three European and three Rwandan Universities involved in the project: The University of Parma (Italy), University of Applied Sciences of Cologne (Germany), Université de Liège (Belgium), University of Rwanda, Ines-Ruhengeri Institute of Applied Sciences, IPRC Musanze, and the University of Art and Technology of Byumba.
The 'EnRHEd' project includes two specific fields of interest for sustainable development: Food science and technology and environmental protection, management and land planning. In these fields, the project has four main objectives to be achieved in three years: To support the modernization of Rwandan institutions through the revision of the currently university programs and the improvement of the didactic approach; to implement new degree and PhD programs; to create a platform for digital didactics; and to promote the internationalization of educational paths, through training of technical-administrative staff of Rwandan institutions.
The activities of the project will be developed mainly through mobility of both academic and administrative staff and students between European and Rwandan institutions.
