End of Year Retreat
On this 02nd February 2018, Musanze Polytechnic staff met in the End of Year Retreat to discuss the achievements of last year, and the future plans in this year of 2018. It was an opportunity to exchange ideas contributing to the progress and success of Musanze Polytechnic.
In his remarks, Abayisenga Emile, the Ag Principal, talked about the outstanding achievements that were made in last year, and called upon all staff to contribute to the growth of the institution.
Some of the achievements made:
The extension of Musanze Polytechnic: In 2017, under the agreement, the Chinese government pledged to provide funds to extend Musanze Polytechnic. Thereafter, on the 31st January 2018, China and Rwanda signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement through which Musanze Polytechnic infrastructure will be extended to meet the demand.
Musanze Polytechnic participated in two exhibitions: The Made in Rwanda Expo (29th Novemeber-05 December, 2017), and the Provincial Mini-Expo (14th December 2017-26thJanuary 2018). At the Provincial level, Musanze Polytechnic students got an award of young exhibitors.
On the 22nd November, 2017, in his official visit in Musanze district, the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister, Dr. Edouard NGIRENTE visited Musanze Polytechnic. He observed some of the achievements of Musanze Polytechnic, through its community outreach programme, to improve the social welfare of the neighbouring community. He visited some of the students’ projects; among others there are the Reinforced Concrete Garden Furniture to fight against deforestation, Iyiwacu Wine from sweet potatoes, and Irrigation System.
On the 20th September 2017, the first batch of students completed their studies in different disciplines, they are out and many of them have got jobs.
In December 2016, Musanze Polytechnic signed MoU with Jinhua Polytechnic. The cooperation which mostly bases on the areas of teachers exchanges, and talent cultivation. Through this cooperation, Musanze Polytechnic will get a Centre of Chinese language, and a Skills Development Centre.
This year 2018, Musanze Polytechnic will strengthen the quality of education to produce competent workforce. The Ag Principal stated that in this year, Musanze Polytechnic will uphold the quality of education, and promised the staff that the institution will provide what is ensure the quality of education.

During this event, the staff voted for two Staff Representatives in the Management Meeting; Nirere Umuhire Marie Claire, and Uwintwari Jean de Monfort.
